The aim of
Bookstart is to bring a lifelong love of books and
reading to every baby and toddler born in the UK. Ask
your health visitor, or at your library for further
details.
Parents receive a
free bookstart bag from their health visitor at
their baby's 7 - 9 month developmental test.
Parents receive a
free Bookstart Plus bag from their health visitor
at their child’s 2 year development check.
Free Treasure Boxes will be given to three year
old children via their nursery classes and other
preschool groups.
Any child under 5 can join in the
Bookstart Book Crawl once they have their own
library ticket. The child is given their own Book
Crawl collector's card and then each time they visit
the library they receive a sticker. When they have
filled their card with 5 stickers, they get a
beautiful certificate, designed by a children's
illustrator. There are several different certificates
to collect. |
